I was planning to get the caps from Parts Express (027-252, -260 & -419) & Madisound (ESA 12uF), and the resistors from Sonccraft (MRA-12's). When I mentioned getting the Dayton's from PE, they said the Sonicaps are better and U.S. made. But then I would need to use a pair of 20uF instead of a single 40uF Dayton. The Sonicap's are 200V whereas the Dayton's are 250V.

I was planning to use one of those new custom PCB's listed in another thread. For fitment, should I opt for the pair of 20's or the single 40, and will there be a noticeable difference between Dayton & Sonicap?

I would contact Sonic Craft for everything. They have more than what's on the web site available.

Money well spent on the sonicaps by the way. Thank me later

    That's not a problem.
    The Sonicap's are 200V whereas the Dayton's are 250V.

So what, the originals are 100V.
will there be a noticeable difference between Dayton & Sonicap?

    Yes.

I received and installed the 194's this afternoon. Turned on the tuner and will let it play continuously around 70dB for awhile... at least when I'm not sleeping. Is the consensus 300 hours before they're broken in?

I also received Larry's driver mounting rings yesterday. I'll probably hold off on installing the planar rings because I can't install them without disassembling the cabinet.

I'm sure you meant the PR rings, there's nothing planar about SDA's. You bend them at the two areas with the small cut outs, insert into the cabinet, then bent them flat again. You cannot disassemble the cabinet.

Yeah I meant passive and typed planar, sorry. I didn't receive any docs on how to install the rings, so I assumed the PR rings could only be installed by those folks who rebuild their speakers by completely disassembling them.

    No one disassembles the cabinets.

Do you see the little cuts I mentioned?
