What do you think is a good amp to run with the First Gen Redcaps? I Went thru Alpine and MTX I am not sure that the Current MTX Thunder 801D is enough or at least it does not seem to be.
Help with suggestions?

well if you want 1 amp
you want to look for specs similar to these:
    1000watts x1 @ 2 ohms
    rockford fosgate bd1001
    also check out hifonics
    mtx
    alpine
    phoneix gold
    kenwood exceleron
US acoustics seems good on paper....has a 3yr warranty...but ive never had any experience with them...and theyre cheap to buy!
    stay away from sony
the 801d puts out 400 watts
yes the subs will still bump
but no they will not be at their full potential
i would put closer to 600 each to those subs
    550-600
    theyre underrated
if youre looking for 2 amps
advantage...cleaner sound lower thd...cheaper to fix...if one blows...its only 1 you still have the other...rather than your one 1000watt amp blows and your sol
    cuz that happened to me
    now im getting 2 amps
    2 rockford power 550S's
    other amps to look at
    kenwood exceleron kac-x520
    rockford punch 501s
rf power 551s(550 is old model)
again..you can look at the same model amps above...if you want 2 amps, one for each sub
look for ratings at 500x1 @ 4 ohms
    thats rms rating
    not peak
    hope i helped

ok im stupid, i was thinking you had 12s
in which case theyre rated at 400 each...but 500 would be better
    not 600
    thats too much
most the amp choices are the same though
cept most of the amps are underrated meaning theyll do more than theyre rated power
good because you have more clean power...bad b/c if you put 600 to those subs for a long time...theyll most likely blow
i fried the spider on mine...the original mm120s
dont forget to break them in for 40 hours
but just turn down your gain a little bit and youll be fine
