I would love to do tubes in a dedicated two channel rig, which is still a possibility in my upstairs game room, but for now I was looking for a dual purpose amp for HT/stereo. I have been eyeing some plinius, pathos, and pass labs for that purpose.

Older Parasound will be very similar to B&K but the HALO series is much different on the top end.

What is the difference with the HALO?

In that case, ATI is a great warm amp that has the grunt as well as the warmth. I just sold a AT1802 a while ago and it was a great amp.

How did I surmise a FM ad was on the way....

Aboroth00....can you at least TRY to disguise your intentions?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Don't know what you're talking about there buddy . I have first hand experience with the amp and I just sold it. ATI is often overlooked but they make great amps and they recently acquired Theta. You can find these guys on fleabay often times going for cheap.

Unfortunately I do not have any more to sell

You had 93 posts when I posted and when you hit 100....the Flea Market. It is the rule for 100 posts before posting and you certainly adhered but it's lame. You can roll your eyes but you're still a douchebag. Nice to see your regard and respect for our forum.

    Oh well....

Anyone ever get to listen to a Pathos Logos? I love the design and the reviews have been solid.

I don't know if polkies have tried Pathos. There may be a few polkies who have or owned Pathos gears but have not seen your thread coz you are not asking about Pathos in particular.

But if you love the design and consider the good reviews about them, may be you should give it a try.

Check out Audiogon Forum for Pathos gears and you can ask questions in their forum too.
Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, please do not post. I just tried to give blueboxer here some advice and TALK about audio! I'm not trying to sell him anything or push him into anything so I don't see where the problem is.

Didn't catch a price range but if you're interested in Pathos, why not take a look at SimAudio or Theta. I know rogue audio has some great Tube offerings with some decent wattage to keep up in the HT department! Some member also posted an ad from Agon worth thinking about.

Whatever, you got busted and no one accused you of selling anything in this thread....oh wait, nevermind.

My house has a real contemporary design, which Pathos works well with. I have demo'd SimAudio and preferred Arcam over it and NAD equally to it. I did see some older SimAudio HT amps available, but the age of the amp and design gave me some pause. At this point I am quite happy with the Anthem selection and don't mind giving other amps a try when they pop up at good prices that would allow me to minimize the cost of reselling them afterwards. The stereo versus another HT/stereo setup debate is still raging in my mind, so I will give that good pause before pulling the trigger on high end tubes or 2 channel amps.

You've had a pretty fair selection of brands to make a decision. I'm a big Anthem fan but the next rig, another rig right? Get into tubes for stereo.

I got a killer deal on an Anthem D2 so I decided to upgrade the downstairs HT setup and hope that the D2 will provide solid stereo performance as well, but the second/seperate system would be upstairs in the game room where I have the room for a second HT setup, but am thinking of trying out a dedicated 2 channel rig. Tubes are definitely a consideration, I also thought about an Arcam AVR 600, which had a great analog sound for my ear, but focusing all the costs in a killer set of towers would be fun. I am still yearning for another paradigm setup, but thinking that I would lean towards Dynaudio, Totem, or even used B&W if the opportunity presented itself. The usher lineup also looks appealing, but I am holding off final judgement until I can hear them in person.

Stereo setups I have looked at where NAD, SimAudio, Rotel, and McIntosh. The McIntosh was also in consideration for HT with the 207, but I don't have the breathing space for it. However, I will probably lean towards the first three along with Pathos, Plinius, and maybe Belles or Rogue if I can find a local dealer. I think that project is 3-5 months away, I want to get the decor, poker table, and game table in place first.

Ok, so the showdown will come down to the Anthem MCA 50 and B&K 125.7. Winner stays and the loser either gets sold or placed in the second system if it is too close to call. Still eyeballing a McIntosh 207, but I found them too soft and smooth with the B&W's I demo'd it with, much preferred the speakers with Rotel. However, with the Mythos it might be perfect.

Arrrgh... the B&K seller has decided to keep the amp!!! Still looking for suggestions for a amp showdown. There is a budget friendly Cary Cinema 7B, Arcam P7, or the big jump to the McIntosh.
