....anybody recognize these classics. Question....has anybody ever steam cleaned their grille clothes. I want to restore these. Walnut Cabinets have minor scratches and paint drips....should sand out to be near perfect. Grille clothes have some minor stains....wondering if steam cleaning will bring them back. Can see stain on right speaker ....upper right.

One of the biggest things with steam cleaning them is that the fabric will most likely stretch out and may or may not tighten back up. Or it may even shrink. You could maybe test it on another grill(if it's the same type fabric) if you have one that you have no need for in case it does ruin it. I guess if it does stretch it and it doesn't tighten up, you could always stretch it, reglue, and then cut the access off. I have steam cleaned many things in my years, but never speaker grill coversI love animals, they're delicious!

Never steamed, I have hand washed in a sink and then shop vacuumed dry. I am afraid to steam older grill cloth.
Nice JBL's by the way. -
I'm pretty sure that AG above is correct. The 4312s have a titanium tweeter and the controls on the TOP. So it's very likely these are the previous generation, maybe 4311s?
The ubiquitous JBL studio monitor of the late 70s early 80s?

,,,,they are the 4311's.... i am refinishing the cabinets which had minor scratches and paint drops. they should look like new when finished. in my earlier years i had the jbl 100s....great rock speakers,,,the west coast sound. also used large advents for jazz and classical. the 4311 clusters the drivers for use as near field monitors. of course neither compares to my rebuilt maggies.
