    Bang & Olufsen made some terrible sounding speakers with aluminum cabs.

    These certainly look nice, but those B&O's sounded so bad, looking at these triggered my gag reflex.
    design is where science and art break even.

    I'll second that, never heard one speaker from them that I could live with.

    The Polk RM10, 20, 30, 40 and SB42 & SB50 all have aluminium cabinets (rear aluminium front plastic) and sound good. I personally feel better with an aluminium enclosure than plastic. BTW; the tower looks like (similar) some DIY kit offered by parts express http://www.parts-express.com/projectshowcase/indexn.cfm?project=Colossi

    Well it was already stated that B&O and the Polk RM series were aluminum.

    Actually B&O makes most of there speakers with aluminum cabs. I think the BEOLAB 1's are the speakers you guys are talking about. They sounded pretty bad.
