RTA12 Tweeter Xover Plug change

Ok so i am trying to swap my RTA12 parts from some old nasty cabs to some nice ones i got from keith.The plugs on top are hot glued to death on both.Any suggestions on how to remove these so i can swap them?
I need to do this because the 12C xovers are different than the 12's i am taking out so wiring is different (or missing).:redface:

    That hot glue should be easy to pry off the cabinets and connectors with a pair of pliers or my favorite goody box tools....dental picks. You can buy them at Home Depot and are a must have for vintage Polk work. It's usually pretty brittle and barely in an adhesive state anymore.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I've dug into dozens of old Polk's with the picks and been just fine. It either chips off or pops off en masse. It's worth your time to poke at it. If it doesn't give as described, and don't be shy, back off and report back.

    I bet it pops off just fine.

    What they said. You will have to pull the plug out from the top. Also has the cabinet you are moving it to is slightly smaller i would put more insulation in it. to make the drivers think it is bigger. I would get rid of the yellow thing and put the insulation from your 12Bs in the new cabinets just the way it was in the old ones. Then get some extra from JoAnn fabrics. Those are very early cabinets. I had a pair of later early 12s and they were stuffed with the white insulation.

    Pretty nice cabinets aren't they??

    very nice cabs keith.picking away at the glue right now.slow but sure.i will see that i stuff the bad boys with the white ins from the C's.
    glad you packed them so well.my wife said she looked out and saw the fedex guy toss them onto my concrete porch like they were on fire.sometimes i think these guys take the "fragile" stickers as a challenge to see how bad they can treat them.

    No hurry.
    I just got the first one out but a wire broke off of the lower crossover so now i am gonna have to learn the fixin' process for that.
    this IS my first rodeo with this stuff so i am taking it slow.

    You have to disconnect the wires from the lowerer X over or cut them and then reattach

    when you say cut and reattach is it a sin to use wire nuts to reconnect?
