LSi spacing

This thread is in advance of a much later purchase of a pair of LSi bookshelf speakers.
I see the 7's have a keyhole mount and the 9's dont. I know the Pinpoint AM 40 mounts will work with both sets, but was curious if the 7's needed the extra space to breath or if they can just mount direct to the wall and if its recommended they need space how much is recommended...
Basically I am looking to do something similar to the picture below (taken from someones system showcase). I have a DLP right now so until I get a flat screen I have no need for the LSi's (thought I could use them in my office setup until they are ready for the main rig).
Any thoughts from current LSi owners would be appreciated....

Every room is different. Best thing to do is play around with placement and see what sounds best. IMO on the wall will not yield better results than if they were a foot or two away.
You should shoot Erik Tracey a PM, this is his room.
