    About 12-16 hours ago, thanks Mr. Helper. It was magnesium laced salt.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    It would be hard to melt magnesium; it likes to burn too much.
    I am thinking we're talkin' magnesium chloride, here (MgCl2)...

    burns not only in oxygen, but in nitrogen and carbon dioxide as well,
    so good luck melting it (650 C) without burning it ... Argon gas would help.

    It'll burn under water, too... as some college Org Chem Lab students have learned when doing Grignard Reactions...

    Magnesium in flares burn a tad bit on the hot side, too.

    Such as the Mk24, Mod3 magnesium flare. Actually warped the keel on the Oriskany.
