Computer Trouble

I use an external sound card - Creative Sound Blaster sb0270 - to get optical digital output from my computer to the DAC for Pandora and Netflix applications.
For some reason I do longer have any audio drivers. Both the S/PDIF and the speakers driver are missing. I get a "No Audio Output Device is installed" message when I place the cursor over the box used to select output devices. I think it ran OK on the native Vista driver.
I can't figure out how to restore or reload those drivers (and I've been working on it all morning)... Any help would be appreciated. I am most interested in the S/PDIF driver.
Thanks

Remove and re-seat the card. Download the driver package from the manufacture's website and try re-installing.-Kevin

Creative no longer supports this device and they have no drivers offered on their support site. The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young

Is that the Sound Blaster MP3+?
If so I have the driver at home. It's ridiculously difficult to find on the main page. I got it to work in Win XP, Vista, and 7 32/64 thus far.
Let me know.

I found that earlier but it is said to be for XP, not vista. I'll give it a shot and see how it works. The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young -
Humm, "Setup could not detect ant Sound Blaster Audio card on your system"
I don't think it works with the Vista OS. I plugged the device into another computer and it works fine there. The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young -
Are you sure the drivers are gone? Are you sure the card just isn't seen anymore?
Go to device manager (sorry, I odn't know what the Windows 7 / Vista equivilant is) and make sure the system even sees the card. As someone mentioned, make sure it's still seated correctly. It may have just up and died.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
You can try it again in the Vista machine but plu it into a different PCI slot. It may find it then and allow you to load the drivers.
It's a usb device.
Try a different USB port. Does it even acknowledge that something plugged in when you put it in the port?Main Surround -

That USB hub may be toast. Try a different port.-Kevin

I think I finally found the correct driver. The device isn't labeled as such but it appears to be a "LIVE! 24 bit external" and I found a visa driver for it. It's installing now. I did try switching USB ports but it doesn't recognize the device on any of the ports. The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young

If anyone else should need a driver for the SB0270 sound blaster Live! 24 bit external sound card, here is the Link
It's pretty well hidden and if you don't know the sb0270 was marketed as "Live!" you're going to spend hours looking for it.The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young -
Victory,
Thanks guys. It's working just fine now. I still don't have the driver for the internal speakers but they sound like crap anyway. It's a toshiba laptop. That's a problem for another day.The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young -
Mines labeled MP3+, and yes it's part of the live line.Main Surround -

I would really try to figure out why that stuff just disappeared on you. Seems odd, drivers don't usually uninstall themselves. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I've had external hard drives cause errors just like this before.
