Hi from sunny South Africa :-)
I am in the process of buying my first set of decent speakers and have decided on the polk range.
I basically have three sets to choose from in my budget:
1. RTi A3 - R3700
2. TSi 300 - R3000
3. TSi 400 - R4000
For now i will be only running in stereo from a Yamaha RXV 650. sub and centre to come at later stage.
Will be used for everything Music, movies, Ps3 gaming.
I have listened to the A3s only so far and i liked it but now that the TSi is within range and a floor stander,
My question is whick one is a better deal? the newer bookshelf or older Floorstander?
Please help

I haven't had any experience with those speakers, but I would like to say welcome to Club Polk
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Ben
Thanks -
what warranty is included with the 'older' floor ?
if it is the same as the new then consider the space that a floor standing speaker
takes over the book shelf.
usually a floor speaker will have more pronounced bass but that will be a preference
that you would decide if you like.

AG is right.
Another question: is that each speaker of per pair of speakers. Also have to look up the exchange rate for your currency because I can't compute those numbers. I realize that Being in S.A. you will probably be paying more than we do in the U.S. for the same product?

Can you hear all of them before buying? That would help your decision.
If you're getting a sub soon, I would go with the RTi A3, just because it's a "better" line.
Welcome to the club!!
P.S. Stay away from District 9. I heard bad things will happen there._________________________________________________

Agree with Ricardo. If you're planning on getting a good sub soon that can impact the decision. If you can spend some time listening to each speaker, even better!
Welcome to Club Polk. I find when I sit down with some music and a glass of Amarula Cream that whatever gear I am listening to will sound a little better!DKG999

Welcome to CP-- good luck in your journey-- I'm not very familar with the newer line,so I'll defer to others.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

It comes with a five year warranty same as the newer RTi series.
The price is per pair.
eventually i wanna get a sub and a centre but not sure how soon as the price for the sub is quite expensive.
Ricardo you a funny guy @dkg999 Amarula does tend to have a nice effect on you. hahaha...
Thanks guys. i'm going tomorrow to listen to all three speakers and take it from there.
The RTI is just so close to the Floor stander and thats my biggest issue because the RTI is "better build" but still a bookshelf and that means extra stands etc. But coupled with a sub i can have a good set to begin with. -
I have the TSi400's and like them and your price for them is actually $19 less than NewEgg's price.
The price for the TSi300's and RTi A3's are higher than prices in the US. -

Thanks man, how are you running them? in a HT setup or stereo? -
I run 90% HT. They aren't bad for music.

Hi guys, i finally made the decision and went with the LSi 400.
They sound great both music and movies.
now my question is about setting up my receiver. Currentley it's set to factory defaults, is ther any changes i need to make e.g frequency ranges etc?
It's a yamaha RXV 650 and i only have the two speakers at the moment.
Thanks for the help, i am a novice still at these things.
