Polk rta 12 ?'s

Hello, I'm new to the sight and just picked up some 1986 RTA-12c speakers in mint condition. All my old music sounds new again is the best way to describe how I like them. If anyone is interested in pics of the 12c's I would be happy to share. I would like an opinion on my setup for surround sound. I have the 12c's as my front, the RT-400's for the rear and the CSI 13 for the center. I am considering adding another pair and using the RTA-12's strictly for my stereo enjoyment but only if that might be an improvement in my current setup. I also wondered if anyone would know if the McIntosh MA6200 would be a better match for the RTA-12's for my stereo listening than the Pioneer SX-850. I really enjoy reading all the great posts and hope my first one isn't too off topic. Thanks in advance

Welcome to Club Polk!
The RTA12 is a great speaker. My favorite non-SDA vintage Polk, in fact!
I have achieved the best results with those speakers by spreading them wide apart and toeing them in so they're facing directly at, or slightly behind, the sweet spot. Like this they image like crazy.
It makes sense to find a more modern pair of Polks that match your center to use as fronts and then use the RTA's in a separate 2-channel music system. Those vintage Polks excel at music.
I don't have any experience with your electronics.

Sometimes I hear those and think that I like them better than any polk speaker, SDA included. They're just so ... "right."
