Speaker Wire Question

This may sound stupid but I bought 100ft 16g speaker wire for my setup. . .

Now, my question is, lets say I run out of wire, will it be ok for me to go out and buy another brand of speaker wire with same guage? Sound should not be affected as long as the guage is the same right?

    Thanx for the quick reply. Im planning on hookin up my system sat and i already got the speaker wire through the mail and i just started a more accurate measuring and its gonna be close, figured i could just go by radioshack or lowes n pik up extra.
