RTi10 compatibility

I have a set of RTi10 speakers I bought several years ago. I am building a home theater in my bonus room (20' by 14') and am hoping to use them up front pairing them with new center and surrounds in a 7.1 configuration along with a screen and projector, etc. My question...are the new RTiA components matched/compatible with the older RTi10? For my room size, which center and surround sizes would go best if so? If not matched, any ideas for me? What is? Thanks!

I went with the Csi5 and Fxi3's and they match perfectly. There's a few people on here that have matched the Rti with Rtia series with good results, but I haven't personally heard it so I can't comment.

Bottom line is yes, the CSiA series will work fine with your RTi speakers. Best to go with the larger CSiA6 (or CSi5 if you can find one). The consensus around here is that bigger is better when considering a center. Good luck, and welcome to Club Polk! Keep us informed on your progress!

I'm sure you have more to offer than that... Huh? Otherwise, posting is pointless. It gives the impression that you didn't even read what the OP wrote.

Thanks for the great feedback...glad to hear it should play well together.

    I am thinking of going...
    Fronts.....................RTi10's
    Center.....................CSiA6
    Surrounds................FXi A4

Are the smaller surrounds okay for my room size in a 7.1 config? 20Lx14wx8h roughly. Just worried about over powering the room, both physical presence and sound.

Smaller surrounds should work fine. Most end up overkilling their surrounds (I did but I didnt know better). If your listening to multichannel stereo then you want more speaker cone area, but for just mostly HT, smaller surrounds will work fine.

I agree. I certainly haven't ever been left wanting for more surround... although it's not like I've tried both, but I think ES got it right.
