What is the difference between these two speakers? Other than one is older than the other... Looking for physical differences, spec differences. Or are they exactly the same just with a different name on them?

Would you trade the TSI400 for the Monitor 70 Series II given my setup?

The only differences are in looks. The speakers, tweeters, bracing of the actual speaker is the same.

You have a gloss black finish v. vener, the color of the speakers cone is different, if you side by side the pictures you can see all the rest.

I believe the TSi's are bottom ported and the Monitor are front ported.

Besides the difference in looks (glossy vs veneer), the tsi is bottom ported vs front ported on the monitor. Never tried the tsi500 at home but tried the tsi 300 and found the base tight but a bit piercing to the ears and not smooth maybe because of the bottom port and on the hard floor that I had, not sure about the tsi500. Did not have this experience when I auditioned the tsi500 at fry's maybe due to the carpeting. The monitor I find is really appropriate for my floor-type.

TSi 500's are bottom ported, look a little different and have a conventional crossover.

Monitor 70's are front ported and have a Cascade crossover.

IMO, the crossover is the largest change. The Cascade crossover gives the Monitor 70's a more connected feel and better sound stage.
