Box Building Question

OK guys, I'm considering building a ported box for my new H2 sub I got today. (It looks badass by the way) Anywho, I've only built sealed boxes before and have a few questions on the port. I'm going to be building the box exactly to specs from Orion, and they say the port should be 5" in diameter and 19" long. I only have about 11" of box depth. I know it's ok to bend/shape a port inside the box, but my real question is... does it matter where the opening of the port is located inside the box? Is it a good idea to keep the opening about halfway between the wall and the basket? I want to use that snake tube stuff or possibly just make my own, which would probably be the way to go.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

By the way... 2.25^3 ft, 5x19 round port tuned to 33 hz

Something like this seems pretty good.

    Internal volume:
    25.47" long
    15.73" high =2.25^3 ft
    9.71" tall or deep

Length of boards to build this box:
    (2) 27.47"X17.73" for top and bottom
    (2) 27.47"X9.71" for sides
    (2) 15.73"X9.71" for the ends

The internal volume of the box comes out to almost exactly 2.25^3ft. Should I add a little to make up for the port inside the box?
