Figuring the power and htz of 2 simultaneous subs

A while back I started building a home theater set up and I'm pretty happy with everything but it's time for some more bass. The sub I have is an 8" 100 watt yamaha that's rated down to 28 htz. If I add a Polk PSW 110 to it, that only goes to 32 htz, will my bass extention be lower than the 28 htz of the yamaha using them both at the same time? Or will it just be loud and boomy?
Any advice would be great.

I doubt your yamaha can go down to 28hz in a real room. Not sure about the Polk.
I would not bother mixing the 2 and suspect the Polk will sound better by it self than adding the yamaha.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

So using both of them at the same time won't give me anymore bass extention ? I figured they would pressurize the room better.

Probably not, the will probably not work in phase, and it will be very difficult to get them that way.
It's best to use two of the same sub.Main Surround -
Epson 8350 Projector/ Elite Screens 120" / Pioneer Elite SC-35 / Sunfire Signature / Focal Chorus 716s / Focal Chorus CC / Polk MC80 / Polk PSW150 sub
Bedroom - Sharp Aquos 70" 650 / Pioneer SC-1222k / Polk RT-55 / Polk CS-250
Den - Rotel RSP-1068 / Threshold CAS-2 / Boston VR-M60 / BDP-05FD -
So would two of the 8 inch yamaha be better than the 1 Polk psw 110

I'm pretty sure Yamaha rates their subs at -10db on the low end which does NOT represent any realistic assessment of how low it will hit. In all probability that Yamaha would be above 40hz under tighter tolerances like +/-3db....maybe even 45hz?
The Polk's real lower end is 38hz at the same tolerance level so it is the deeper sub. Perhaps two 110s would do you. Matching subs is not a bad idea. One Polk is better than one or perhaps even two Yamahas? Two Polks even better.
You might also want to consider the PSW125 to get you a little lower (34 db)?

What is the cubic feet of your room LxWxH ?
When it comes to subs and HT and a person looking for a sub with presence it is better to cry once rather than twice.
Provide your rooms CF and if there are any openings into other rooms and budget will yield better feedback.
I have the same yamaha sub that I gave to my son who's room is 10x10x8 and you barely know it is there.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Get a bigger, better subwoofer. Don't augment an already awful subwoofer with another marginal subwoofer. I'd seriously suggest a DSWPro 600 or at least a 400. They are WAY better than what you have now and both are better than the Polk Audio PSW-110.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
