2010 Christmas tree (or lights) thread

Well - Tradition still holds and we went out the Sat. after Thanksgiving to cut down our annual Christmas tree. Pickings were not as good as in years past. While this is one of the taller (and for darn sure heavier) trees we have gotten, the shape is just not that great. (did not look that bad out in the field surrounded by other trees, then again - it did not look that large either....)
Anyway - here is the McLoki family Christmas tree for 2010. (when I find the charger for my good camera, I will update the picture)
So what did you end up with this year? (post 'em as you get 'em)

That was the worst part of getting a large tree - it makes it much harder to see the walls...Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

So, you've got time to start a thread about your Christmas tree, but no time to write a review on the MIT cables you got to demo. Pffft.Political Correctness'.........defined

Here is a better pic with the lights off.... (Could not figure out how to replace my first photo with this one) It is taken with a camera I picked up yesterday at a local photography store for $5.

Thats a helluva deal for $5. The Exif data says that is a Canon PowerShot S5 IS.
3 1/2+ year old technology...but still a fine camera. And for $5!"Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Yup - not sure why it was in a $5 box, but it was the camera and a strap - thats it (ok, it does also have a lens cover, but it falls off so easily, it might as well not be there). Not a big deal missing the battery since it uses AA's and for storage it uses SD cards (currently using a 2gig backup card that I had for anothe camera)...
It works really well from what I can tell (no scratches on the lens, no stuck pixels in the display, etc...)
I am officially a happy camper about the deal...Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

You should be...you purchased it for 1% of its original MSRP."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Last year our pet rabbit chewed through some of the old light strings and half the bulbs did not light.
So this year I bought the new LED cool white color light strings. I am not really down with the color. It does not really fit with our traditional style house. I think it would look better with modern style decor. They have that new LED car headlight look to them.
If I were to do it again I would look for a warmer white color.

You forgot the cars:biggrin:I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -
We cut this in the Pike National Forest. It is 19 or 20 feet tall. Not quite as full or thick as the cultured trees, but it fits nicely with the Colorado lifestyle. I used 12 strings of multi LED lights on it."Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."
