Went to a wake on Friday

A friend of mine passed away at the age of 38. He went up to bed and never woke up. At the funeral home the parking lot was full. It's real good to have seen all the support for his family. I knew his parents a bit. I just can't imagine having to bury their son at that age, and without warning. I'm still a little shaken about it. Please send out prayers for his friends and family.
Thanks
Ben

That really sucks Ben. 38 is just way to young, and I can imagine how hard that must be on his family and friends. Just in time for the holidays too. You just never know when your number is up. Live every day like it might be your last, and don't forget to tell those you love that you love them.

Thanks Dave it means a lot. Their son passed away just before ThanksGiving and the service was the day after. I lost one of my favorite aunts on Thanksgiving and all I can think about is how her kids feel every year. It is tough when this stuff hits on the Holidays.

Lost one of my sisters just before Christmas a few years back so I can definitely sympathize. Sucks to lose someone but around the Holiday's is even worse.

Prayers sent for the family Ben. What was the cause? 38 is an odd age to die in one's sleep. Too, too young!

Lost my grandfather on Thanksgiving day three years ago, my cousin had just passed away two days earlier. My dad passed away a year to the day after my cousin. I definitely view the holidays a little differently now.

The holidays seem to accentuate family deaths. My dad was supposed to go, according to the doctors, from a huge brain tumor before Thanksgiving 1979. Somehow he managed to hang on all the way to January 20, 1980 after all the holidays past. The really eery thing is that he couldn't talk any more but could scribble down a thought or two that my mom could understand. He wrote after New Years Day that he was going to stay until after he watched the Superbowl with me one last time. He passed 15 minutes before kick off. He had the heart of a lion!!! I really miss him dearly. He was 57 at the time.
