Hi guys,

I'm a noob at home audio and wanted to see if my receiver is powerful enough for my 5.1 setup.

Mains: Polk Audio RTI A5
Center: Polk audio CS1
Rears: Polk Audio R150
Sub: Klipsch RPW-10

Receiver: Denon AVR-590 >>>> Useful information (The AVR-590 features five discrete channels of amplification (75 watts RMS each) rated to drive speakers with an impedance of 6-16 ohms.)

I'm mainly concerned about the RTi A5's as I hear they require some decent amount of power.

So is the receiver good enough for my speakers?

How big a room do you have and what is your listening level preference (low volume, moderate, high). These will help us better determine if it will work at all. Realistically the receiver will work with those speakers but they definitely would benefit from more power.

Well I can tell you that I have Rti8's (essentially the same as the RTiA5's) and CSi5 center. I have run them with my AVR which is rated at 110w/ channel, it sounded ok, not a lot of headroom. Now they are being fed with my Rotel at 150w/channel, its really too much at higher volumes, I can never listen to it as loud as it would go.
