I thought that this was an interesting one. The seller apparently used to work for Polk Audio and made these Model 10 speakers back in the day.

BTW, I am not affiliated.

I emailed him for details regarding version and customization. I'll let you all know what I find out as I am not planning to buy them at this time.

I may know who that is. If its who I think it is, he would ask more than 2 bills unless they had flood damage or had been chewed on by the dog.

I emailed yesterday and he said no pics available. No stands with them,he is using the stands for other speakers. His initials are LL if you think it's the same guy.I believe he worked in IT at Polk so not sure of his speaker building capabilites.Maybe great.Maybe not.
I will go look at them if they dont move in a week.

I know who it is ! Not who I intially thought though. Yes, he worked at Polk for many years and was the IT head honcho. A good guy. They should be some good speakers. Back in the day Polk employees could get their pick of components etc because you knew the other people who worked on all the various component lines.

I live across town and am thinking about them myself (kidding).
I wanted to add that LL ended his career there in IT. From what I remember he did work on the production lines earlier on. It wasn't uncommon for Polk employees to work their way up as the company grew quickly from the 70's to the 80's. I have heard several stories of the special treatment these speakers received when they were intended for employee use. So my advice is to get them. Let me know if you do. Cheers.

I did get an email response from LL. He said that they are technically version 10B. They are mostly standard components but the crossovers came from one of their sound labs so it produces slightly more 'brilliance' than the standard 10B's.

It is really cool that Polk Audio had such perks for their employees. The other gentleman that I know (ZP) did much of the work on the Monitor Series II, RTA TL and SDA TL lines. I have not seen them but he told me he as a pair of his own Signature Reference Series SDA SRS 1.2TL. It would be interesting to see/hear how they differ from the production models.

    A) Ask ZP if he worked for CC ? B) Is he a big soccer fan ? If both are true I know who it is. Tell them I said hey, it's been a while since I spoke with them. As far as a perk, I am not so sure of that. But knowing a lot of the people there helped. Since most all of the employees knew each other you could hand select your drivers, tweeters and x-overs. These components usually were dead center in the response curves. In one instance a friend of mine had his drivers double coated (the shiny stuff, I can't reveal the name due to proprietary reasons). Not sure why he did this execpt to say he did it.
I don't think a lot of people knew this went on but yes it was very cool to be around. Cheers.

Did anybody get these? This cat won't answer my emails.
Kind of a bummer i think they'd be a good match for a ht with my 5jr's in the bedroom.
If he sold them he should pull the add.
