Denon Single Disk Red-Book CD Player Model DCD-3000

This rare offering from Denon is the best red-book CD player I have ever owned. Top of the line in its day, and it shares the same features and internal components as the vaunted Denon DCD-S10 that had a $1600 MSRP.
Music flows with not one, but 4 DAC's in this beauty. These 4 DAC's are true 20 bit PCM1702, with 2 per channel.
It also has a digital input, which is extremely rare for a CD player at this price, so you can use this input to connect you Ipod or HDRadio and use these 4 wonderful DAC's.
Built like a tank, black in color. Digital and Balanced outputs as well as fixed and variable RCA outputs. Volume control is also a really nice feature that can be used on the remote. This comes in handy if you Pre Amp or Integrated Amp has no remote.
Included with the player is the original remote and manual, and I will throw in a set of 4 isolation pads that are of the cork/rubber variety.
Plays and functions perfect. One scratch on the top, that is almost a small dent. That is the only blemish I can find. I'll get a detailed photo of that soon.
Free Shipping via FedEx or UPS if my asking price is met.
$285 and I'll take care of the PayPal fees. Local Pick-up is fine, and I'll sell it a bit cheaper that way.
Pictures soon to follow...

This CD player is fantastic! I still own one, and it sounds better than many equivalent CD players today (in the same price range). Great offering!

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Notice the close up pictue of the scratch...not as bad as I may have suggested. It is not really a dent. Looks like the previous owner tried to touch it up.

The remote work the volume out. Very cool. You could use it as a pre and add a second digital source.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

Also note the Audiogon Blue Book value is ~ $500.

Here is a nice photo I found online that does it more justice than my pictures. Very clean unit other than the scratch on top, but in a rack the face is exceptionally clean.

Here are some more pictures...

Here are the rest of the pictures.

Your third pic appears to show the "ding" but there is discoloration around it (darker color)....I assume this is spit or spittle, and that only the small grey dot is the actual ding?
-
Small grey dot is the actual ding, but the darker area looks as if somebody tried to paint or blacken. Doesn't look that bad, but it is there.

SOLD to the man in the corner in the brown hat!

This is back up for sale and hopefully Russ or Doro will mark it For Sale. Here are a few more pictures:

Not sure as I have never owed that model Rotel. That is a highly reviewed Rotel, and the fact it decodes HDCD's is a plus.
Now this is only a guess, but I would think the DAC's in the Denon are a bit better.
Maybe more of a lateral move than an upgrade. -
I just gave up my search for one of these. I love the simplicity of this unit for an office setup using it as CD player and digital preamp. I instead got separates (Adcom GFP-555II, Adcom GDA-700, and Denon DVD-2910) which I suppose give me some extra features and maybe a little better sound, but I do regret not finding a DCD-3000.
