Alright, though Carvcom won the MIT questionable interconnects for keeps, I want to pass along my other pair for a demo period because of the large amount of interest.

Heres the rules, I will allow the first 20 people who want to try them to sign up. I will ship the cables to the first on the list for a trial period of about 10 days and they must then ship them to the next on the list.

After your trial period please come back to this thread and post your thoughts. Compare them to the other cables you have used, and if you are familiar with MIT please state whether you think they are real or fake.

Please only put yourself on the list if you will follow the guidelines of around 10 days turnaround on the cables and that you will post your thoughts.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

    In, please!

BTW, how much do we have to insure them for when shipping back and forth? Might help to give people an idea of how much it might be to ship these around...

    But, regardless, in!

Because I was too lazy to go to the actual post office I slapped 8 stamps on the padded envelope and they made it from Denver to Chicago... Shipping should be around 3 dollars and because even if they are real they are only EXP3's I don't need insurance on them. I paid 12 bucks for 2 pairs and I'm not worried about shipping damages.

Now with that said I don't expect anyone to keep these and say they got lost in the mail haha.

Sorry on the delay guys, I was out of town for the holidays. I also need an address to send these to. My fault on that, my pm box was full. It's cleared out now, so please 98badger send me your info. I sent you a pm a while back, but didn't get a response. As for the cables I thought I should put up a bit of a review. Since we don't know if they are real (as in made by MIT) or not, I didn't think it would be fair to compare them to my Kimber Heroes which I know are authentic, so I swapped in some cheapo regular old ic's for a week, just to get a baseline to go off of. They are the cheap kind that come with audio equipment, so I figured that's about as low as it gets. After getting used to those, I swapped in the "MIT" ic's. There was a definite improvement in overall sound, with everything being quieter between tracks, and with more depth and clarity when the music was playing. I still prefer my Heroes, but they are an improvement over stock cheapies, especially at the price point. As far as build quality is concerned, they seem to be built pretty well. If I had to guess, I'd say that they are probably authentic. Thanks again to Grimmace, and yeah I guess the bears sucked more than green bay last week!

Where did this fake MIT cable idea come from? I've not heard any buzz around the net about fake MIT cables. Time to stop this nonsense.

The idea came from MIT of course.
    A word about counterfeit cables:
Bruce Brisson created the first purposefully build high-end audio cable and has been making the world's finest audio interfaces for over 25 years. In that time, there have been many cable makers who have attempted to imitate his technology and performance. Imitation is the highest form of flattery! Recently, however, entrepreneurs abroad have begun counterfeiting vintage MIT Cables products, representing them as genuine. These reproductions contain no MIT technology.

Interesting, first I've heard of it. To me, it doesn't make sense to make fake MIT vintage cables as there cannot be much money to be made when all is said and done.

Yeah, I'm not sure why anyone would bother to counterfeit 60 dollar cables, but I guess it happens. They are the exp3 interconnects.

F1, the idea came from me being the only one to receive these as a buy it now price on ebay for around 8 dollars. I along with like 4 or 5 others on the board bought them but as far as I know I'm the only one who got 2 pairs of them.

I preferred their sound to the audioquest cables I had, but there was even a larger improvement what I bought some T2's that I know are real.

I karma'd my other pair and then wanted this one to float around to see what others thought.

Got a PM from Messiah and he should be shipping the cables out. I will try to be prompt with my eval and send them on to the next person asap. I want this to be a success so as many people as possible get to try them out. I'll post results as soon as I give the cables a fair shake.

Still have not recieved the cables. Messiah's inbox is full at the moment so I can't get a response from him. If he sends them to me, I will pass them along to the next person on the list. Otherwise, please take me off the list. I'm tired of waiting.
