Received My cd of Lucifes Friend (from Frankfurt Germany) A German rock group with English singer John Lawton (later the singer of Uriah Heep) Released in North America 1973.
Their self titled album reflects the sound of Led Zep, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple. Keyboard quality of Deep Purple,Bass of Sabbath,Vocals of Robert Plant but better than all of them. IMO:biggrin:
I've seen the CD version going for as much as $200.00.

Try Amazon. This cd is fantastic! I had it on 8 track, waaaayyyy back. For a low quality audition, and I mean LOW QUALITY!!! go to U tube. These guys are nuts! (in the right way) -

Have You played them recently? The CD contains 5 bonus cuts. Not the same flavor as their origional release but still nice. -
My first impression of this group was on a simple 8 track player, back in the days of 1973 fun drugs. Now hearing it for the first time in 27 years on CD with separates, subwoofers etc.... Well.... I think you get the picture.

I failed to mention they remind me of Atomic Rooster as well.

Instantly recognized John Lawton's vocals; never understood why "Uriah Heep" weren't bigger over here than they were. Like him or hate him, Lawton's voice stood out (and in a good way, IMO).
I can see the comparison with Sabbath; their guitarist even kind of looks like Tony Iommi (not as good, IMO, but that's okay; Tony Iommi isn't god, but he's a very close relative ).Sal Palooza
