Upgrading corporate laptop from XP to WIN7

For a few of IT Administrators on CP, if you are responsible for maintaining image for the workforce, what would you say if they upgrade their company assigned laptop to different version of Windows (in my case, XP to WIN7)?
If I go through step upgrade (XP-Vista-WIN7) thus preserving all corporate sanctioned applications intact, do you guys care?
