"The {SONY} powered subwoofer cost almost that much".
Whatever dude.
Must confess that I started out with Sony floorstanders from CC. Returned them and bought R50's - hey I was an amateur. The R50's easily crushed the Sonys. That aint saying much. -

No, your walls would collapse"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

I don't think he had anywhere to place them on the floor given the location of those closets. Believe me, there's worse pictures. Some folks just want sound....not good sound, just sound.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The amount of weight the floor standing speakers are
and to be able to lift them up, hold in position, and mount
is surprising. That Wall will vibrate and shake.

Oy-vey, such a deal I've got for you, boychick!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Sad but true!!If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money. -
I'm going to mount some speakers on the blades of a ceiling fan, stand in the middle, and turn it on. Maybe I can get me some of that "surround sound""They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

I have a neighbor who put B&W 608's I think up on shelves like that in a spare bedroom. What a waste!!! And he has the whole house to place them anyway he could want.
To each their own, right. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
