"The {SONY} powered subwoofer cost almost that much".

    Whatever dude.

Must confess that I started out with Sony floorstanders from CC. Returned them and bought R50's - hey I was an amateur. The R50's easily crushed the Sonys. That aint saying much.

I don't think he had anywhere to place them on the floor given the location of those closets. Believe me, there's worse pictures. Some folks just want sound....not good sound, just sound.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The amount of weight the floor standing speakers are
and to be able to lift them up, hold in position, and mount
is surprising. That Wall will vibrate and shake.

Must be a single family home or
Does he live in an apartment and what does the neighbors think.

deflation from 5,000 to 1,450 down to 550
    nice sales pitch.

I'm going to mount some speakers on the blades of a ceiling fan, stand in the middle, and turn it on. Maybe I can get me some of that "surround sound"

I have a neighbor who put B&W 608's I think up on shelves like that in a spare bedroom. What a waste!!! And he has the whole house to place them anyway he could want.

    To each their own, right.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
