New Polk guy here...

need some advice,

I've been using the M30's with a CS10 center for a while with the intention of upgrading once my home theater is finished. I just bought the M40's on new egg for a great price. Now I'm wondering if the CS20 would be a better match for the 40's. I'm going to mount everything to the wall. I've got some used FXI-A4's on their way to be used as the rear speakers.

do you recommend a CS2/20 as the best center for this setup? Or is the CS10 do-able?

thanks

The CS10 is do-able and will work fine, however the CS2/20 will sound better if you have the space. Welcome to the forum!

You should always buy the biggest and best matched center channel as possible. It handles most of your HT in regards to dialogue and should be a priority. If you have to choose between center or surrounds....get a bigger center channel....surrounds are easy.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I ran the CS1 with my Monitor 40's in my bedroom. I also ran a CS2 with my main setup. Between the two I would go with the CS2 simply because its bigger and a little better than the CS1. Your center does provide most of your dialog so it is very important to pick a good one.

Since you already have the CS1 you might not notice a huge difference with the CS2, but worst case you buy it, dont notice a difference and return it. Best case, you buy it, notice a difference and sell the CS1

Thanks guys. I think I'll wait till my new room is totally done then see how the CS10 sounds before I try the CS20. They are so affordable I could have a larger system downstairs and a smaller system upstairs. Yeah!

I just got my surrounds in the mail. Very excited to hook everything to the walls.
