Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

I don't understand how he doesn't at least have a metal plate up there. There is seemingly NOTHING protecting his brain.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I bet the guy had brain cancer or something. My grandfather had a tumor in his brain that removed, but somehow the right side of his skull became infected after they put it back on his head. To save him, they just removed the right side of his skull! It was nuts. His head looked like a triangle At first the spot was soft and you could literally feel and see things beating under the skin. But, over time calcium built up around the soft spot and it became harder albeit very misshaped.

I guess that's proof positive that we utilize much less than 100% of our grey matter!

I guess his parents never said "boy, if you had a half-a brain..." sorry, that was just wrong.

    Well i didn't say 'just 10%' ;)
But the actual 15-35% activity areas registered on an electroencephalogram in that mythbuster's episode sounds about right. (Brain Drain episode?)

It may be proof that we don't NEED 100% of our brain to "function". Although I'd say it's more proof that we need 100% of it to no be complete idiots.

Most likely the man had a traumatic brain injury. The bone on the top of his skull was removed to save his life. His brain swelled and the bone was removed to make room. The bone can be reinstalled sometimes after the sweeling is reduced. Most people wear a hard helmet for protection. He may have lifelong problems due to the TBI. I work at a level 1 trauma hospital and see this everyday. It's still difficult to look at!

I remember seeing something similar to this on one of those shows, 'That's Incredible' or Ripley's, but it was where they scooped the right half of his head out. It looked like someone had taken a giant ice cream soop, started at his forehead, and pulled it straight back.
Everything from right above his right ear, to the top of his head was caved in.

I've also seen some guy who had sinus cancer, and they removed everything, from above his lip, to his forehead. He could hear, and talk, but couldn't see-obviously.
That was disturbing! Not something like a simple pair of sunglasses could fix.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Yes, I don't think one can ever get used to deal with this in a cold hard fashion. I don't think I could do your job, you aught to be very courageous to go through such on a daily basis.
