I can hear some wierd noise on mine at very specific frequencies. I swear its the PR basket resonating on certain notes that are struck with a bass guitar.

Has anybody else experienced such an event on their SDA SRS's?

Pull the passive out and see if the spider is damaged.

The paper/Styrofoam parts at the rear of the PR have been known to come unglued resulting in odd sounds. Remove the PR and if that is the problem, it will be obvious.

Pull the drivers and see if any of the wiring is vibrating against the inside of the enclosure. I know most speaker manufacturers never do much to secure the wiring so this won't happen.

Well I've done all the obvious external checks. Next step, take out the PR and start investigating. What it sounds like to me is that at certain frequencies the basket on the PR is resonating. I can't say 100% for sure but it sure sounds metalic to me.
If this helps at all, I really notice it when I listen to the Tool

some folks apply a "dynamat" sound absorbing type material on the basket

Check the front to back braces inside the cabinet. They are hot glued and known to break loose.
