I have been meaning to post this a few days ago but life happens.
Mike (Face) did this upgrade to his sometime ago, taking out the 1uf's and replacing them with Clarity Caps.
Well I have had my caps for a few months, and just blew it off. Well I finally did the job a few days ago.
Let's just say first off I am a dumbass for not doing this sooner. The imaging and clarity is beautiful. The SDA effect is more 3 dimentional then it was. For the total cost of about $30 and 20 minutes of my time this upgrade takes this unit to a new level.
I was sitting here listening to Melissa Etheridge and the depth of hearing her voice was so clean, hearing her take a breath I swear you can feel her lips move. This really took my Vinyl to new Heights.
The Jolida is a fine unit out the gate but if you have one I suggest doing this cheap upgrade..
Larry.

Which series Clarity cap did you use? Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks
Ben -
I used the ESA Series.

so i did a google search on you phono preamp and found this thread with pictures - cool - some of us just don't have the budget or the where-with-all (or the TT / pre / amp / speakers) to justify such a nice piece

wayneYamaha RX-V2700, EMI 711As (front), RCA K-16 (rear), Magnavox Console (Center & TV Stand), Sony SMP-N200 media streamer, Dual 1249 TT =--- Sharp Aquas 60" LCD tellie -
That guy went all out. Im happy with my mod for now. The stock tubes were the first thing to go when I got this unit.
Maybe I will look at the OP's later down the road. -
Thanks for the write up Larry. I was going to do mine as well sometime down the road but I've been too busy with other things as of late to even pop the top.
What tubes did you change out to when you got rid of the original? -

Quick review:
Out the door The MR's smoke the ESA's if they get better after some burn in, boy I can't wait..
This unit just took a giant leap forward. I am pissed that I didn't do this upgrade sooner. Well worth the $100!!! -
