Welcome to Club Polk. Make sure you can strap the grounds on that dual mono amp before running it. SDA's need common ground, or a transformer to run them with the SDA cable.
    Congrats

Yeah, I need to figure that common ground thing out. I am hearing conflicting info on that amp. I downloaded the owners manual and it says nothing about the grounding on it.
I did find out some other specs though poking around on the net. The amp is rated at 150 WPC into 8 ohms. It delivers 210 WPC into 4 ohms. Nice power for the SRS's. I.m still trying to find out how much current it delivers. Anybody here know the answer to that one?

Take a multi meter and measure the resistance from one speaker ground to the other. Make sure nothing is hooked up and the power is off. Let us know what you get for a reading.

Oh I hear that loud and clear. I'm already drooling for the tweeter, crossover upgrades.

I've also got my eye on the Odyssey Stratos Mono's - (with matching pre-amp of course).
I wanted these from the get go, but I walked into the Onkyo gear and couldn't pass it up. I'm glad I went the route I did, cause this month has been THE month of bad luck for me.

Excuse my ignorance or confusion... How can monoblocks be common ground?

Are you talking about after strapping them?

The Onkyo is a dual mono block on a single chassis. Therefore the common ground is possible.

    Welcome aboard!

How do you like that Musical Fidelity M1 DAC? I just got the new Audio Adviser the other day, and they had the M1 DAC in there...it kinda caught my interest.

I absulotely love the M1 DAC. I was a little skeptical at first, cause up to a few months ago I had never heard of Musical Fidelity. But from what I am learning they are a company to be reckoned with.

My current set-up is ok. But I dont have anything to bench mark the M1 DAC. So I took my laptop and the M1 into a local high end used equipment store. Those guys were just amazed.

The nice thing about this unit is that it has true 24bit input/output signal capability. If you have been looking around at DAC's, there are only a handful of true 24bit DAC's. Most all of them have 24bit ouput but only 16bit input. (very deceptive)
For the money (I paid $700) I am very pleased with this unit. Most other true 24bit units are easily in the 2grand range, or more.

The other nice feature, true plug n play. No special drivers or any other BS to get it up and running.

If you're considering going this route I recommend it.

I'll post up some pics later today or tomorrow.
