The 2.3 's were just into production around the time I started working at Polk. The doughnuts were used to increase the moving mass of the driver. The donut was a part Polk used elsewhere so as not to add odd parts to have to inventory. Do they look dorky, yes I agree. Hope this adds a little insight to the discussion here. :cool:

my guess would be a center dust cap on the 10" or 12" passive. they just punched another hole through the middle. -
You are correct sir ! It was a part used on the passive radiator(s). :cool:
