Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH Remote Issue

Need help on a strange problem with my Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH. Note I have a Harmony One but this issue happens with the Pioneer remote as well.
The problem is after the receiver is powered off over night I cannot power it on using either remote. I can power it on manually and at that point both remotes operate all functions including power off and on. However after I leave the receiver off overnight the next day it is in the same state.
The manual suggest the remote mode is incorrect, I set it to mode one with no change. It also suggests unplugging the receiver and when unplugged for several minutes it will usually work again. However after sitting overnight the issue is back. I also tried defaulting the receiver with the same results.
Any help is appreciated, I am running out of ideas to fix this and am ready to call Pioneer. I cannot find a setting in the manual that addresses this but maybe I have missed it.

Thanks Rick, did not even think to look over on AVS. Looks like I will opening a ticket with Pioneer. Luckily there is a service center in my town.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

I also own a Pio 23thx and had tried the harmony one briefly. Although I have never had issues with the oem remote, the harmony did have its issues. I did end up selling the harmony and havent got a new all in one remote yet. Maybe its an issue on the Logitech end with their programming for the Pioneers.LIVING ROOM:

Seems that family year of Pioneer Elites had a bunch of strange issues. My amp had to have parts replaced on one of the circuit boards to clear up a problem where the front panel locked and could only be reset by unplugging and waiting... hopefully yours is just as easy as a firmware upgrade.____________________________________________________________

I had the same issue with both the Pioneer and Harmony remote. I was able to remedy the problem by turning Kuro link to "ON."
Hopefully this will work, instead of having to open up an order.
Good luck!HT: RTi8s, CSi3, RTi4s, HSU ULS-15, Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH, Sunfire Cinema Seven.

Good luck!
The first few months I had the receiver, it only occurred a few times and I didn't really think anything of it. Then, in the last week, it started happening every time I tried to turn it on after it was off overnight. I then turned on Kuro Link and it seems to have "fixed" the issue completely. This is good because this was a refurbished unit, and I suspect I would have gotten the runaround from Pioneer. Either that, or they would have tried to charge me an exorbitant fee.
I would like to note one thing for anyone else reading this. By turning on Kuro Link, you lose the ability to assign an HDMI input to another input on the receiver (i.e. HDMI 2 to the DVD input). However, it really isn't a big deal since I can rename the HDMI (and all other) inputs.
Thanks again, TORI3! -
No worries, BeefJerky.
I'm glad you were able to remedy the situation without having to throw down money.HT: RTi8s, CSi5, RTi4s, HSU ULS-15, Elite VSX23, Sunfire Cinema Seven
