I'm using Carver plate amps. 750W/ea
Someone mentioned a few days ago about the pro amp thing, and I really need to try it. Although Ive been wanting to add 2 more titanics and build new cabs so i could have a set of dual opposing drivers in phase so that the cabs will be absolutely dead (I use them as large end tables). But I feel pro amp will probably be the way to go in that situation. Although, we'll see how money goes in the next few months. I'm just waiting for some medical bills to start pouring in from my wife's recent visit.

Oh, so you actually do use them as end tables. In your previous post I thought you were saying that because they were too loud or something (so they were demoted to being used as end tables).

About using pro amps, I'm sure there are heavily opposing camps on that issue...

About using pro amps for subwoofers, some pro amps work great in this application.

haha, yep theyre actually doing double duty. I was really just saying that I didnt have room to make the bigger subs that I wanted initially. And the only way I could get the two boxes in that I wanted was to get rid of a pair of tables we had in there and make the boxes about the same size. Although I've been thinking about just waiting until we move so i can just make an infinite baffle system.

would you mind giving me a short list of the pros/cons of pro amps in this application?

listening to some black eyed peas on my 1.2's right now and I can feel the bass in my chest.. pretty happy with my 2 channel rig and dont think I am going to change anything around for now..

in my HT.. i like the idea of dual opposed 12's instead of single 15's. i will start a thread in the DIY section for this. thanks for your inputs..
