Does any one know if a company makes anything that your projector will raise and lower from the ceiling?

Sure! They're only like 2-3 grand:

Well, the one at B&H is only $928 -
Here's the same type of setup from HTDepot.

Can I ask why you would need something like this. You could go a cheaper route and with something from Chief Mount using a down extension which would get the PJ where you'd want it. Check out

Mechanical automatic.

8' ceiling. -
The cheapest option if you dont want to spend alot of money on a ceiling mount is to build or buy a book shelf and mount that to the back wall.
I have my projector sitting on boxes up against the back wall looks real bad.I will eventually get a recess made up and cut a hole in the wall to hide the projector.Just havnt got round to doing it, as I have to get a chippy in to do it.
I still havnt even hidden my cables yet got them taped to the floor, its been 3 years. My thinking is you cant see them in the dark so its no big deal.Im pretty slack, the missus has been on my case for years, I'll get around to it I say.
I have seen people mount a cupboard to the back wall and house the projector in the cupboard. When not using the projector they just close the cupboard doors.
Big bucks to get one of those automatic projector ceiling lifts...
