Looking to put together an inexpensive HT system for the son. This Pioneer VSX-515 is near me. Seems they had a model S and K.
Anyone offer advice. I've seen some good reviews on the 515, but I assume it is pretty low end.
thanks....

The 500 series is now, Pioneer's entry level model. Many were 5.1 some 7.1 depending on the year. Probably rated as 100/channel....but more like 45-50 watts. It's certainly an acceptable AVR for a cheap starter system.
My first Dolby Digital AVR was a Pio VSX-711--good enough for my needs at the time. It still does Basement duty quite well with some Garage sized L/R speakers and a Pio center?
The important thing is that you don't PAY too MUCH for that!

It is pretty low end. S and K are Silver and blacK. Should work fine for a kids first system though...Main Surround -
