"Some people have asked me:

'So would you ever do a romance movie?'

Like thats soooo not what I would do!

'Well, I did a romantic movie, True Romance.'

'No, no, I mean like a real romantic movie'

'Well, that is a real romantic movie.'

'No, like one without violence?'

'Well, there'll be a lot of things in any movie I do that will be contradictory, but anybody who's a fan of the movie can tell you, the title- True Romance - is not ironic...this is True Romance" - Quentin Tarantino

I hope none of you forgot about this movie! It's one of the best movies Quentin Tarantino has written, IMO. Well, I'm sure some of you are asking why I'm bringing it up.

I was at Best Buy yesterday and I noticed they had the directors cut available, and it's in DTS format. ;) SWWWWEEET! This movie has some GREAT lines, especially the Christopher Walken/ Dennis Hopper exchange.

I don't want to get really into the details of the movie for those who may not have seen it, but I definatly recommend it.

The Cast:

Christopher Walken
Brad Pitt
Dennis Hopper
Val Kilmer
Patricia Arquette
Christian Slater
Gary Oldman

....and many more.

There are 3 seperate audio commentary tracks with:

Christian Slater & Patricia Arquette
Tony Scott (Director)
Quentin Tarantino

If anyone loves this movie like I do please give it some props!

I posted some comments on this movie sometimes ago but didn't get a lot of responses. I like this movie , but I have to watch it alone, because my wife feels very uncomfortable about the strong language in the film. It has solid star casts including the unfamous Brad Pitts (at that time). The alternate ending doesn't look so bad either.

I purchased this one some time ago, and it is a good movie w/o a dought. The whole Hopper/Walken scene is worth buying the movie.

I love this movie. A classic Tarantino plot with the signature "mexican standoff triangle" and a stellar cast.

It was my and my ex-wife's favorite movies for years.

I had totally forgotten about this movie. Back in the mid-1990s (94-95), it was one that I enjoyed watching repeatedly (like Resevoir Dogs) over a two year period or so. And I'm not one usually to do that. In addition to the Walken-Hopper exchange, I particularly liked Brad Pitt's character as well as Gary Oldman's brief appearance as the pimp. "Go ahead and have a seat boy, grab yourself an eggroll. We got everything here from a jiggle eye-joe to a damned if I know"

Last time I saw it was probably '95, though. Obviously I didn't know that a director's cut is available. Going to have to check that out soon.

One of the most entertaining movies ever made. Everything about it seems perfect. As for it's title.... as a kid in high school at the time it came out, it made perfect sense to me. Slater works at a comic book store, has an affinity for Kung Fu movies and falls love with what I always thought was the ideal woman (esp at this time) - the sweet 'n salty, innocent ****.

The dialogue is first rate and demonstrates perfectly why Tarantino is one of the best at his craft. I just assumed EVERYONE had seen this film. It's actually my dad's all-time favorite movie.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
