I looked and couldn't find anything here on the Marantz PM5004. Most reviews out there are of the 5003 and I don't know what changed between them. I was wondering if anyone has one and how they like it. I plan on driving some Kef Q series. Thanks!

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!

I have heard the 5004 last year in China with B&W bookshelves (which tend to be bright) and even though I don't like B&Ws lower/mid offerings....it did make those passable--not overly bright..which they almost ALWAYS are. So while I can't tell you what the upgrades/changes are to the 5004. I can say that I think it might be a good match for KEFs which have that center mounted METAL dome tweeter and can be a little edgy as well. But I'd definitely say try to 'listen' for yourself. A lot of us are loathe to say YES you'll like it, if 'you' have not actually heard it for yourself, because audio is very 'subjective' and one person's bright is another's perfect?

I totally agree that I should try to listen to it thanks for the help. I just know that I generally like the way Marantz amps sound and generally enjoy KEF speakers, so I just wanted to make sure that nothing drastic has changed. Thanks again for the input.

I very much like my modest Marantz receiver and CD player. I read that the 5004 replaced the 5003. Stereophile was very positive about the 5003. I hope yopu enjoy your purchase and look forward to hearing your thoughts about it. The three year warranty is nice...
Don't forget to enjoy the music...
