just learned that there is a GLUT of alcohol ....
The US government mandates 12 billion gallons in the fuel supply this year, but a decline in American driving and a 10 percent cap on how much can be blended into motor fuel has created a glut.

Well, I'd be happy to serve my country by bellying up to the bar and helping "dispose" of this excess alcohol...2-Channel - So far...

That would technically be ethanol. Mandating a number that should be used in the fuel supply by year is easy. The production technology and supply chain logistics are not. You should be glad that production/supply is not at that level, you would be paying $8 box for your cereal. The switch to bio-mass vs production grains along with new production technology will help balance supply and use, hopefully.DKG999

I don't know why we waste our time with electric vehicles. The emphasis should be on using natural gas powered vehicles. There's enough natural gas at times on this forum to power a village
And I agree with you. Electric vehicles aren't the answer. You are just ignoring how you generate electricity and the cost of the infrastructure to deliver it. That and the utilities are preparing new rates and fees for recharging electric vehicles to cover the additional generating capacity they would need.
I would say that personal nuclear powerplants and nuclear powered vehicles are the answer  (** sarcasm and humor notice for those that are attitudinally impaired **)DKG999

I always thought the hydrogen idea was better than electric. I love how they say "Zero emissions", completely ignoring the coal burning power plant that is providing the electricity.

I always said have one that runs off of human waste. By putting the toliet in the car you cut down on the wasted time stopping for gas/bathroom breaks and add comfort to man's 2nd best friend, his throne.

I can picture it now...instead of dudes running into the woods to take a crap on the shoulder of the highway, it would be like a football game every 25miles....6 cars in a row w/ guys sitting on top of the trunk toilet, crapping into their gas tank with varying grimaces of discomfort or joy.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The glut shouldn't last long since they just raised the cap to 15 percent :frown:Main

Fix this by amalgating the toilet seat to the car seats and when having a crap, the auto suction kicks in to route the human fuel to the thank ....and a spare can of beans in the trunk, just in case.DARE TO SOAR:

Using the formulas in front me, I calculate the BS generated in this forum could power approximately 32.78% of the US until 2017, without interruption. This of course takes into account population growth, and the continued proliferation of electronic devices in the home.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

Only untill 2017 Steve ? Well, won't matter anyway. By then the world will be under water, and most humans wiped off the planet. But all this can be avoided if you send a big chunk of your money to Al Gore, he and his friends are the only salvation for the planet. To think the other thread they called us paranoid.
I like the idea of alternate fuels, but thats all it is right now,an idea. No viable ones as far as I can see anyway. Wind, solar, hydrogen, gas, electric, waste powered, nuclear, all have niche markets but none that can be set forth to the masses. I guess you can argue for the fact of using a combination of any or all of the above, but I don't see how and still keep prices cheaper than oil based energy or coal. Just have to wait for a whiz kid to come up with an equation for an alternate fuel I guess.HT SYSTEM-

If we lose Cathy and Brett we are screwed:eek:Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

you can find anything online.......
approx 250,000,000 persons in the USA.
on the average 1 person in 7 will expend about a liter of intestinal gas per day.
natural gas in the US is sold by the cubic foot
convert the output of intestinal gas to cubic feet.
if 1/7 of the population expels 1 liter of intestinal gas per day
that would equal about 1.5 million cubic feet of gas per day,
or 550 million cubic feet per year.
