Randall Simon, of the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Italian Sausage, Guido, in the Sausage races at Miller Park last night. I think it's hillarious, still, it was a REALLY stupid thing to do on camera....I was watching it on TV last night and went over to the stadium, which is like 200 yards away, and watched them haul him off, lol.

I couldn't believe it when I saw it on Fox sports last night...I couldn't tell but it looked like the guy got whacked pretty good...he was doubled over......What was really funny was watching the other sausages comming to see if he was OK....

It was actually a female that got it. The hot dog that helped her out and toppled over as well, was a female.

Those things are REALLY top heavy. I just can't imagine how stupid you must be to do that in front of all of those cameras and people. I mean, hell, I laughed my **** off, but it's still Misdemeanor Assault, but our wuss of a D.A won't prosecute.

You know damn well if that was any one of us we'd have been thown a in the poke for 90 days and have a wrap sheet on us.

BTW....Did you know this is the same player John Rocker called a "Fat Monkey"?

Hell I never even considered his comments "verbal abuse". He was just telling it like it is. Don't dare do that though in our bleeding-heart liberal, politically correct society we live in...er with. I guess I saw something different than you guys did. First of all I think he meant it in fun. I do not think he meant in any way to hurt her. But I think he did swing the bat way to hard...knocking her down. In fact I think she recognized the situation too, because she did not press any type of charges.

Thats just my look at it.

BTW- he got in Rockers grill after Rocker made those cute comments in SI.

MILWAUKEE, July 10 — Pittsburgh first baseman Randall Simon was questioned by sheriff’s officers after hitting one of the Milwaukee Brewers’ sausage mascots with his bat during a game.


DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY Jon Reddin said he was reviewing tape of Wednesday night’s sausage race and would decide later Thursday whether to file charges.
Simon said Thursday he spoke to the young woman he hit.
The Pittsburgh Pirates' Randall Simon is in trouble for taking a swipe at a racing sausage at Wednesday night's game.
“I talked to her. I don’t need to talk to her again. So I got nothing to say,” he said after a meeting in the Milwaukee County district attorney’s office.
When asked whether he hit the woman on purpose, he said, “People who know me well know better than that.” He then left with his lawyer, and they both declined to answer further questions.
Simon had been handcuffed in what is standard procedure for those taken to jail, Deputy Inspector Sherry Warichak of the sheriff’s department said. She said he was “totally cooperative.”
Simon was taken to the Milwaukee County Jail to be booked after Wednesday night’s game, won 2-1 by the Brewers in 12 innings. He was then released and ordered to appear in the district attorney’s office.
Four people in sausage costumes race around the infield warning track between the sixth and seventh innings at Brewers’ games to entertain fans.
When the group went past the Pirates’ dugout, Simon took a half swing at the Italian sausage character, hitting her from behind and causing her to tumble. When she fell, she also knocked over the woman dressed as the hot dog.
“They both were treated at the scene for scraped knees, but at this point I don’t think they have any other complaints,” said Warichak, whose department provides security at Brewers’ games.



Warichak identified the person in the Italian sausage costume as a 19-year-old woman from South Milwaukee whose first name is Mandy, and the person in the hot dog costume as a 21-year-old woman whose first name is Veronica.
The deputy inspector said the victims and Simon were interviewed at the stadium. She and Brewers spokesman Jon Greenberg declined to identify them further.
“The Pittsburgh Pirates apologize to the Milwaukee Brewers organization and to the Brewers’ fans for this unfortunate incident,” the team said.
Rick Schlessinger, Brewers’ executive vice president for business operations, called Simon’s conduct “one of the most outrageous things I’ve ever seen inside a ballpark or outside a ballpark. It sickened me to see it.”
Greenberg said the racing sausages were scheduled to compete against racing pierogies (dumplings) at a series with the Pirates in Pittsburgh Aug. 15-17 and then again during a series between the teams Aug. 22-24 at Milwaukee.

I think people need to stop being pussies. The girl that got hit said it was funny even. Yet everyone has to make a big fuss over it. "Oh my god! It was horrible! I can't believe it!" Now MLB has suspended him for 3 games. The whole thing is just completed retarded.

Actually, I completely disagree. While I don't think a big deal needs to be made of it at all...that is what the media does. I posted it here simply for it's comedic value, but you need to remember this isn't a goddamn movie....

...This is real life. We're not allowed to go around and whack people with baseball bats no matter how funny it may be. It's even worse when it's a person who is supposed to be a role model. It's moronic and stupid, whether it's funny or not doesn't really matter in terms of law. Tell me what happens if you or I do it? We get arrested and charged with a Misdemeanor Assault.

And I don't know where the girl said it was funny, but I actually live in Milwaukee, right next to the stadium and every interview I've heard locally with BOTH girls indicated that this was moronic and shouldn't be tolerated. There isn't much they can do when the stupid **** D.A won't even press charges....Do some background checks on that guy...he's got a long history of not prosecuting criminal behavior.

Here is something else you may not know.

Both of them are Volleyball Players at Marquette Univirsity.....Is it all fun and games if she breaks an ankle or twists one because some dumbass had to try to get a quick laugh?

My advice to the ball player: Leave the comedy for the movies and do your damn job instead of acting like an overpaid frat boy goon.


I also completely agree with gshmie. The oversensitive Liberals in this country really have their priorities **** up. That is what we are dealing with here, race. Crime is crime no matter who commits the act. Why are they so INSENSITIVE in situations like this?
