PETA and My Love of Animals

The more I learn about PETA, the more troubled I become. They kill almost 97% of the animals they take into their Virgina facility:
http://www.petakillsanimals.com/petasdirtysecret.cfm (the figures posted are PETA supplied data)
The only animals they ever actually come in contact with are killed in a systematic manner. Yet they lecture the public about drinking milk, wearing leather belts, etc.
The head of PETA, Ingrad Newkirk, has been called a butcher by no-kill advocate Nathan Winograd:
http://www.nathanwinograd.com/?p=907
This, from the PETA website (their words, not mine):
http://www.peta.org/issues/Companion-Animals/Euthanasia.aspx
Some facts:
Currently 8 million or so animals enter shelters annually. Probably 90% or so are savable, so that leaves, say, 7 million. Only about 4 million are saved, leaving 3 million to die. Now, how many people are looking to bring new animals into their homes this year. Some research says as high as 16 million. 16 million potential homes for 3 million adoptable animals is not an over population problem.
There are currently about 90 million pet cats and 73 million pet dogs in the US. Another 3-4 million animals does not seem to be an insurmountable number to assimilate into the approximate 330,000,000 population of humans.
In my last correspondence with PETA I totally shredded their argument for the systematic killing of adoptable animals and concluded with this paragraph:
Lastly, tell Tyler (my cat) he would have been better off euthanized than spending the time in the shelter that he did. Tyler was in 2 different shelters for probably a year and a half. I don't know anything about the first but the second was the shelter where I work. It was crowded and small but the animals were kept clean, well fed and got plenty of attention. I really liked him and finally took him home. Been in a loving home for 3 years now. Better off euthanized? Like I said, why don't you ask Tyler. I think he'd bite you.
Hope this isn't too political and resonates with some of my fellow animal lovers on this form.
With deepest regards, Chris

Hey man I love animals too. Some are pets, and some are food. That's how it always has been and always will be. The last thing I need is some anemic preachy douchebag (or douchebagette) telling me that "meat is murder" and all that crap. Now it's coming out that they kill animals. They don't eat animals for food, or use their pelts or hides to stay warm because that's just wrong (according to them, not me), but they can kill unwanted pets and that's ok? Douchebaggery at its finest.
I love my pets, and take care of them as they do for me. I eat meat, and so do they. It's part of the circle of life. The sooner these nut jobs realize that, the better off we will be."They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Benjamin Franklin, February 17th, 1775.

Some of those PETA girls are hot. It doesn't look like it would take much lying to get them in the sack. Not that I would do it. That would be taking advantage of the mentally challenged.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

I am more of a cat and dog person than a people person. Hate people, love animals. With that said, PETA is a contradiction. After seeing B@###$%t on Showtime about them, I did a little reading on them. I had to stop as it was never anything good and that pisses me off.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

I've actually been researching PETA's general sleaziness for my final paper in my current English course. It is worth noting that petakillsanimals.com, while awesome, is not much other than propaganda.
Some of the responses they have gotten from other interest groups are priceless. Apparently the Anti-Defamation League did not appreciate having holocaust victims compared to pork.
Another nifty thing is that they claim that all animals should be free to follow their 'biological imperatives.' They also claim that human beings are on the same level as animals, while attempting to deny our biological imperative of omnivorousness. -
