LSi Selection... Wait???

OK, so I am having trouble making a decision... I have searched the forums and done a lot of thinking, but I wanted to ask a couple more pointed questions. Here is where I am at. I have 2 pairs of LSi9's and I love them. I have Monitor 70's in my living room 2 channel system that I would like to upgrade. LSi series can be had for a fairly good deal right now. Now here comes my conundrum. I am having some trouble deciding between another set of LSi9's ($500-$600) or trying out the LSi15's (~$1000) that I have never heard. I know the crossover points are different between those models and they are slightly different sonically. Now keep in mind, I have no intention of having a subwoofer in this system. Knowing I love the LSi9 sound, should I wait for the new LSiM 703 (LSi9 Replacement)? From what I understand these are coming out at $2000 a pair, which is quite steep. Should I jump on a pair of LSi15's? I am at the disadvantage of not knowing anyone within 2 hours of me that has the 15's for me to audition...
I would be driving these with a Parasound HCA-2200II amp, so no problems there.
Please help!

I own both and my opinion is that without a sub in a two-channel system I much prefer the 15's.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden

Is Lafayette Indiana close enough. I would be happy to let you hear my LSi-15's, and my SDA's. I must warn you however, that SDA's can be quite addicting. The Gear... 3 hours give or take via google maps.. (I'm bored so I looked it up)
and John @ some point I promise I need to get up there.... you have all the gear I want to hear (LSi's, SDA's, tube and solid state amps)
I think the reason I havent tried yet is because when I hear new gear I get the buying bug...
And its only about an hour away lol"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
I have had the SDA thought, because the 2200II is a common ground amp from what I understand. And I might be able to get them at a better price than $1000... I guess SDA's are on the table
This is a dedicated 2 channel system.
If I were to look at SDA's, what models would be a good place to start with a $1,000 budget?
John, I think you just might be close enough for a weekend trip sometime, I have always wanted to hear SDA's! I would also love to check out those Tube Monoblocks you are building!

You are welcome here any time...
As far as SDA goes, it truly depends on room size and your ability to be able to place them properly. I would say that 2.3 TL's or 1.2TL's if you can grab them, but it seems everyone's number 1 choice of late would be a minty set of 1c's. Again, room size and the abilty to place then correctly are the main considerations. I would also recommend that you get your ears on some first so that you can figure out what sits your likes the best.
I run 2.3TL's for my mains and have LSi-15's as surrounds for my 5.1 setup. When you are able, you can compare them side by side and make the call that suits you best. The Gear... I listened both Lsi9 And Lsi15s and prefered Lsi15s. If you have space get Lsi15.

Yeah I ended up buying a pair of SDA 1C's that have fully modded crossovers, Larry Rings, and I am upgrading them to the RDO 194 Tweeters! Excited is an underestimation! I can't wait for these things. The wife wasn't all that "thrilled" when I gave her a better idea of how big they were  Then I showed here a picture of the 2.3tl's or the 1.2tl's that I want eventually

She was better then...
See what you did John!

LMAO!!! I started with 1c's, scored a set of 1.2TL's and then down to the 2.3TL's because they slip under the mantle of my fireplace by the width of a gnat's ****!

They are 100% stock and my center is a CSiA6. They seem to work well together.
I am glad I could cause trouble... I mean help!
