I just installed a whole house coaxial cable surge protector for my Comcast Triple Play (HD CATV, Phone, Internet) at the service entrance. The Comcast technician removed the F to F ground blocker and replaced it with a Tii Network Technologies In-Line® Coaxial Lightning Surge Protector by the copper wire and grounded it.
Your home HD CATV, Phone, Internet is susceptible to surges if you use coaxial cables from outside since most downstream power conditioners connected to your equipment from the wall outlet amp don't protect your coaxial cables from surges.
