i just got the update dick in the mail from Pioneer. i did the updates and it seems like it loads faster now.
now sure what was all in the updates tho

Which update version is it and when did Pioneer release it? Is it version 3.65 ? That came out back in April. -

The firmware update for the Pio Elite 23FD is the same for the Pio 320. Version 3.65 which came out in April.

Pretty sure all of them are available on the web. Just updated my player today after Avitar said it needed an update to run the disk.
Runs fine now. Wow what a freaking picture. -

I would imagine that some people can't get on the web, download the file, transfer it to a thumb drive then go to the setup menu and start the process.
You do have an Elite. I guess they were just trying to take care of there customers. Heck I didn't even know I needed a firmware update until Avitar wouldn't play. -

mine played Avatar fine. ya its an Elite model. i have the SC-07 and the VSX 84TXSi elite models toomole' -

I looked on the Pioneer website. All they stated was "increased performance"

I think that it might have better AQ and VQ but that could be the placebo effect. -

Thanks dv, it looks like they have a new update for my 05fd as well.
I have both a bdp-320 & a bdp-05fd, no complaints with either one, but I always load new updates, could be something really cool! -

My Pio Elite 23FD isn't slow, powering up the machine it takes about 10 to 12 seconds for the Pioneer logo to appear on my tv screen, the playback "fast forward and rewind" is smooth.
My only complaint is I can't get the machine to upconvert and output dvd's to 1080p/24, it will only output dvd's to 1080p/60 which isn't that great of a picture quality. HD catv in 720p and 1080i is a better picture quality compared to dvd. -
There's a new firmware update for the Pioneer 320/23FD bd players on the Pioneer UK website, it will be coming to the U.S. website anyday now. It's firmware version 3.70

Someone from Europe on another website forum posted this about the 3.70 firmware update:
"3.7 fixes branching issues on the EU releases of Avatar Extended and Knight and Day. Both BD showed severe pixelation and image distortion in the longer cuts." -
If you guys don't want to wait, you can download the latest firmware off their UK website, it's the same firmware for the same machine, the model name for the BDP-23FD in Europe is the BDP-LX52.
