Hey guys,

My AVR is a Pioneer Elite VSX-94THX. I have a Polk PSW 150. I have switched the built in crossover in the AVR a couple times. I play Blu Ray music and movies alike.

Just wondering what you MHZ you guys put your AVR crossover setting.

I have LSI fronts and center if that helps you out.

Thanks

Tony

Tony, I've flipped mine back and forth from 60 to 80 and noticed little, if any, difference. I stuck with the "standard" 80, just because. (This is for the 7.1 rig in my sig. For my Def Tech sats, I'm at 100.)

What LSIs do you have? Towers, bookies?

You forgot already Ed ??? lol

    I have the 15 towers..

I realize that every system and room will react differently. Just trying to get a generally accepted setting.

thx recommendation is 80hz and that has worked out the best for me. I've tried 60hz and found that it introduces some really bad peaks in my setup (my fronts go down to 35hz easily) . Sometimes the avr isnt really exact on the crossover either so you may have to tweak that further. You'd obviously notice it much more in music than in movies... so if you listen more to to the former, I think 80hz is fine...

Oh yeah, forgot about those. When you were talking HT, all I could think of was the RT12s(?) that you had upstairs. Sorry, but once I heard those SDAs... I forgot that you had LSis!

LOL. They had a blown tweeter and the XO's weren't done.

They have the XO's done, tweeter problem resolved and new gear.

Let me know when you're in my area again if you want to stop by again.

And you are correct. The RT12's were upstairs. I sold them though. Got RTA15's up there now.

Onkyo TX-SR804, Polk TSi200 Front R & L, Polk CS-20 center, Polk Subwoofer PSW-111 all firing forward and 4 Polk TC615 ceiling speakers firing down. I have all channels set at 80MHz. The subwoofer is dialed in at 80MHz to match the receiver's setting. The phase is set at 0. Should I make any changes? I'm not familiar with this process and normally set things things at default. Now I'm trying to get the best sound I can.

You might want to try playing with the phase to get it to mix well with your mains. 80hz is fine as a XO but you can play with that setting to see what goes best.
