Never heard klipsch. But Lsi15 would give more bass than Lsi9.

Klipsch 81s would have a bit more bass. As for music. That's really a 'listening' call. Because these are VERY DIFFERENT speakers. The Klipsch are VERY efficient 8 ohm metal HORN speakers, and the LSIs are less efficient 4 ohm Vifa (fabric-ring radiator) Tweeter speakers. LSIs are more laid back, smoother sounding highs and need LOTS OF POWER.

The Klipsch will sound LOUD with even a cheap receiver. The highs will be a bit forward but listenable to those of you who like Horn tweeters?

I really think you need to HEAR both. Because it's almost impossible to compare these two bookshelves. You couldn't pick two more DIFFERENT bookshelves if you tried.

    right on.

This would not be an apples to apples comparison but more apples to oranges due to the type of speaker you are comparing as stated above.

Also please note the Klipsch could be run off an AVR with no problem while the Polk would need a power amp (due to the 4 Ohm load it would be seeing when running the 9s).
