No, Ms. Maddow, The Declaration of Independence does not have a Preamble.

The U.S. Constitution does in fact have a Preamble. Goes something like this:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.


Ya know, you didn't even need to pay attention in school to know this one. You could have just watch Saturday Morning Cartoons:

    Although it should be noted that what John Boehner said was still incorrect--the phrase he stated is in fact from the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence and not in the Constitution (Preamble or not). :rolleyes:
