Watching the Colts v Eagles game. The crowd is booing (albeit a questionable call) as the Colts player is laying on the field motionless for almost ten minutes, classy

They've been booing at just about everything. Classy, yeah that's what they're known for lol  The stadium even has a jail in it to prove it.

Seeing the replay, it was definitely a bad call, but still no reason to boo while the Guy is laying on the ground with the real possibility of the guy being paralyzed...

Not an Eagles fan but they were booing the bad call being shown on the replay and it was a bad call (there were a lot of em - tapping the QB's helmet is roughing the passer?). When Collie was wheeled off, the Eagles players and the fans applauded.

Funny I have seen other teams do it to. My neighbor is a Broncos fan and she yells to drag the players off the field, nothing new to me so saying PA is classy for doing that is funny.

Simply booing a "terrible call" no more - no less. The fans showed plenty of class when he was taken off the field with a nice ovation as Philly fans have always done. Of course that part was left out. Stick to watching chess matches...maybe you won't get so upset.

Two people mentioned it, so I'll address it. There was some applause when they carried him off the field, but they were golf claps at best, nothing in comparison to the booing going on, and then they started the booing again before they even had him off the field.

I said it was a bad call, perhaps you guys didn't read that.

I'm sure they were booing the call, but hows about showing a little respect. The guy's laying motionless on the field, he could be paralyzed for all you know, at least let them get the guy off the field before you start the booing.

The guy at the stadium who's showing the play over and over on the big screen is just as much to blame I suppose.

Say what you want and tell me to go watch my chess match or whatever, but it's classless and you know it.

It would be classless if the player was getting booed for laying on the field, but he wasn't, and everyone knew that. Another Bad Rap.

The refs are close to destroying this football season.

    Thinking of it another way...

There were 2 bad calls yesterday.

1 - The hit on Collie, which was in the first half and Philly had the game well under control at that point. The Colts ended up with a TD, but Philly still had the lead and had plenty of time to 'recover' from that call.

2 - The call on the guy who barely touched Peyton on the helmet. That was a terrible call, much worse than the first call. It's also in the 4th quarter, and gave the Colts a chance to come back where the game really should have been over, so it had a much more significant impact on the game.

So the second was a worse call and screwed the Eagles over alot more. Go back and watch the game, the first call got waaay more booing than the second, doesn't make any sense.

Reading some of the comments here I decided to read up a bit and now it all makes sense. I'd just never seen a crowd boo while a guy's laying motionless on the field, didn't realize the history in Philly

Vick is playing his position better than he has a right too, makes me wonder about his coaching in Atlanta. Still, having a quarterback rush for 40 yds. in a game, while exciting, is hyperbole and not sound football. He will not last the season if it continues.

I was at the game and the booing was directed at the refs and not the injured player. There are colt players saying the hit was legal.

The officiating crew either missed calls, called fouls that didn't occur, or needed to huddle up too many times just to make a call. It was a pathetic showing and evidence that the pendulum has swung too far.

Only when the word "no" immediately precedes the word "class".

Totally clueless about the passion & knowledge that the Philly fans have for all of their sports teams. I see that you had to read up on things to come to your conclusion which is total BS by the way. Typical for someone who didn't grow up as a Philly fan & know their true character. I see that you're from the Dallas area so stick to your Cowboys...there's enough there to keep you busy for the rest of the season.

Wow, some bad assumptions in the post above...

Reading up on something I don't know anything about to draw conclusions is BS? Are you kidding me? How else should I know?

I didn't create this thread because I read some stuff about Philly fans, I created it because of the incessant booing I saw with a guy laying motionless on the field, that's all. It didn't sit right with me and I thought I'd mention it.

True character? Booing santa, throwing frozen batteries, are you kidding me? And no I don't know how true any of that is, all I know is what I've read, have nothing else to go on. Passion is one thing, acting like a spoiled brat is something different together. You can have passion and still maintain some class. I know it's possible because I saw that very same stadium do it by cheering McNaab when he played there a few weeks ago, so I know it's possible.

Your assumption that I'm a Cowboys fan is also incorrect, I hate the Cowboys, always have. And it's not just this year, I hated them when they were doing well, there's plenty of evidence of that here on the forum, jstas and I have been through plenty of arguments on the NFL threads in years past.

And it's not like I've got it out for Philadelphia or something, I said the same thing about San Francisco a couple weeks back when they boo'ed their QB (and I'm a 49ers fan). I'd say the same thing anywhere else I saw it too. I'm sure it happens elsewhere, but I'd never seen it at that level before and thought it was odd.

It may be even worse here in Dallas, but I wouldn't know because I don't watch.

I hadn't heard about NY fans spitting on the wife of Cliff Lee, but that's awful.

Seriously, you guys up in the Northeast need to get your sh$t together. Okay that was a joke, relax

Your apology is accepted!!! Anyone that hates the Cowboys is in good standings with me & all of my fellow Philly fans.

Just bear in mind that we would never, ever boo a player that is injured on the field. We have total respect for the players, both ours & the other teams. We're rough, fair fans but we do know where to draw the line and yesterday's booing was strictly about the call. The timing is what made it seem a bit cold. Couldn't be farther from the truth.

Either most Philly fans are classless "boo-birds", or the true Philly fans stay at home and the "boo-birds" aren't true Philly fans. Either way all I've seen so far indicates that the majority of the people in those seats are complete jackasses. It's not just Eagles fans, I saw it when the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup as well. It's not bad enough that that jackass Pronger is allowed to breathe air, but the fans all boo when the Stanley Cup is presented to the Blackhawks captain Johnathan Toews? Classy. Real classy.

The "golf clap" mentioned above is dead on. Most of the time the crowd will cheer for the player when he indicates that he is ok. He never made that indication, and it was more like they were clapping that they finally got him on a stretcher and off the field already. Then when Indy took the field they started booing again. Classy.

The only thing Philly fans had to boo about was that stupid penalty when a Philly player accidentally slapped Manning on the helmet. If he wasn't wearing a helmet the worst case scenario there was some messed up hair. It's becoming ridiculous these days what is considered a penalty. They should pretty much just play rock paper scissors to determine who wins the game so that no one gets hurt. Best out of 5.

PS, I hate the Cowboys too
