I am looking at buying some Polk speakers for my fronts. I was looking at the TSI300, but found some Monitor 70's for the same price. Looking for input as to which speakers to buy.

If you don't mind the bigger towers, buy 'em! They'll be good for HT and music, too.

Also, tell us more about what else you have and what you intend to do.

I'm looking at either an Onkyo TX-NR808 or 807. Was looking at a Pioneer VSX1120. Also looking at Polk CS10 center speaker.

I'm using them with a pair of Kenwood JL-850W 3way tower speakers with 180 watt max for the rear speakers. Using as HT in 18x13 family room.

Other equipment include: Sony blue ray player BDR-S350, KDL-52xBR6 tv, Sony 5 disk DVD/CD changer, Kenwood automatic turntable, and Dirctv.

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!!

If you go with the M70s, do consider the larger CS2 center...it pairs up better with the larger towers. I also run M70s up front and the CS2 with an Onkyo TX-SR805--a bit beefier than 800s that followed (amp section is more like the Onkyo 100x series). What I would say is that both the 808/7 and the Pioneer are nice HT AVRs....the Pioneer might have the edge for 'music' but they're both great for Home Theater. Everything else will work with the above well enough.

    Welcome to CP JimFo

The M70s is IMHO a best bang for the buck when compared with the TSI300. If you go with cnh's advices you will not go wrong.

    Cheers!

I received my new Monitor 70 speakers & have hooked them up to my old Kenwood amp until my new receiver comes. These speakers are awesome. Thanks to everyone for your recommendations. Can't wait until new Onyko receiver comes so I can try out my CS20 center speaker.
