Did I get the wrong peerless?

I picked up a set of US made peerless tweets for my Monitor 10Bs. However, they don't fit the stock cut out. Is it normal to have to modify that, or did I just get the wrong ones? They originally came from a set of Monitor 7s and have the terminals in the corners, where the 2500s have the terminals on the sides.

The SL tweeters do have a slightly different bezel size than the Peerless.

Also I believe the crossover in the 10b is different than the 10s that used the Peerless (a 34uf cap instead of a 27uf and so on).

If you want them to work with your speakers then you will have to change some cap values in addition to routing out the baffle to fit the peerless tweeters.

Check the schematics to be sure I'm not steering you wrong.
    Sounds good to me...

The early 10Bs (1984-85 with SL 1000s) have the same cutout and crossover as all 10s and 10As The later 10bs have a different crossover and cut out. keith

You can't use that tweeter in that model without modifications and it's not worth the time nor effort to do so.

Why did you buy them? You should have posted something here to double check with the gang.

Peerless and SL1000 are ok for one another but are not suitable for replacement with the SL2000, SL2500 or SL3000.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Thanks for the replies.

I bought 'em because I like to try stuff. This one didn't work.
