I am assuming you are talking about a download coupon that is sometimes included with albums?
When purchasing records some have included coupons for a free cd download and the last two that I tried had expired! It is ridiculous that they can do this. If I waited 5 years of something but not in the current or last year.

I remember some store Gift cards that fell into this grey area as well!

It's the same with movies when you purchase a bluray with a digital copy, a separate disk that you can obtain a copy and load it to your hard drive. LONG and behold they got expiration date and to me that just scams, you paid extra $$$ for this additional disk and IMO you should own it w/o time regulations.

    This is a tricky issue...

They want to give US the goods, but they need to protect the goods from pirates... and there's no way to tell between us and the piarrrrrates.

Nothing that a copy of AnyDVD/HD or MakeMKV can't fix.
